What to Do When Life Falls Apart?
1. Pray and seek God for wisdom
2. Turn to your own family first. They know you best typically
3. Look to local agencies that are set up to help people in crisis
4. Turn to your local faith community for prayer support and suggestions.
5. Some churches have a benevolence fund, but usually it is limited and geared toward those in the faith community that are part of the local church
Below is a link to our county Human Services Page. There is a list of difference services they can help you with and those funds are made available through citizens who pay their taxes. If you do not qualify then turn back to your family and church for ideas and help.
May God lead you through your crisis to overcome and get back on your feet.
Are you or someone you know experiencing homelessness?
Whether you are newly homeless, chronically homeless, or at risk for losing your home, the Neighborhood Center of West Volusia can provide assistance and help you regain your independence.
We work with our community partners to meet our mission of feeding the hungry, housing the homeless and preventing homelessness in DeLand and West Volusia County.
Our housing programs
We provide emergency and transitional housing for homeless individuals and families in crisis. These programs provide a hand-up, not a hand-out as our clients receive life and job counseling and referrals in a supportive drug-and alcohol-free environment.
