Are You A Disciple?
Welcome to the discipleship page. If you are a new believer then this is the right place to start. When someone comes to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior they begin to have questions. The purpose of discipleship is to assist all believers to continue to learn about God the rest of their lives.
Discipleship is a simple term meaning Learner. Many people have the misconception that attending a worship service is all that is needed to worship and follow God faithfully, but this is only one small part of being a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.
If you desire to stay the course with following Jesus until His appearing then you will need to learn regularly. In learning you can also witness to others then you can also help make disciples of others and pass the good news of the gospel down to others.
Jude 1:3 says ... I felt I had to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints.
In order for those who are born again to contend for the faith it will require knowing about "the faith' and the knowledge of the faith comes through intentional, regular and consistent learning the rest of ones live. We never stop learning!
The discipleship process within our local church begins with children in our nursery through senior adult bible classes. We encourage you to register with us today so we can match you up in the best Christian discipleship/education as you grow in your Christian Faith. Better yet just pick up the phone and call the church office to leave a message so we can discuss your journey.
The Apostle Paul wrote to the Corinthian Church that he did not want them to be ignorant in the area of spiritual gifts. However, like the church in Corinth, many of us struggle with our knowledge and understanding of what these gifts are and how they are to be used. Look carefully at
(1 Cor. 12:1)
1 Corinthians 12 New International Version (NIV)
Concerning Spiritual Gifts
¹ Now about the gifts of the Spirit, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed. ² You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols. ³ Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.
⁴ There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them. ⁵ There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. ⁶ There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.
⁷ Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. ⁸ To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, ⁹ to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, ¹⁰ to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. ¹¹ All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.
